Sheikh Muhammad Nasib Al-Bitar ( June 13, 1890 - June 26, 1948 ), the former Sharia judge of Jerusalem, and the author of Al-Faridah’s book on calculating the obligatory prayers .

His studies

He completed his primary studies in the city of Nablus on July 13, 1902, then completed his studies in 1905.
He began his university education in Nablus , then went to Al-Azhar University in Cairo for his university degree, then moved to Istanbul for his higher education in Islamic law , enrolling in postgraduate studies in Islamic law sciences, specializing in the science of religious duties .

His unique book on calculating the obligatory prayers

He wrote the book Al-Faridah fi Calculus Al-Faridah, about the science of religious duties, which is still considered an important reference on inheritance and the distribution of estates.

Joining the army

World War I broke out while he was studying in Istanbul for his higher education in Islamic law. After graduating, he was conscripted into the Ottoman army and sent to military school, from which he graduated as an officer.
He served bravely for about four years, during which he moved to the highest ranks. He received his share in World War I and received a medal for his honorable and valiant service.
He spent most of his military duty in Iraq .

In Palestine

After the war, he worked throughout Palestine in the Islamic Sharia courts, where he worked in Jaffa in 1921 , then Jerusalem in 1923 , then the Gaza Strip in 1938 , then Nazareth and Jenin .
He later moved to Beit She'an in 1942 , then was appointed to Haifa in 1944 , and finally returned to Jerusalem in 1946 as a Jerusalem judge .
During his visits to his hometown of Nablus, he was invited to lead prayers in the main mosque as a gesture of respect to the judge of Jerusalem.

Arabic calligraphy and literature

Sheikh Muhammad Nasib Al-Bitar was an expert in the art of Arabic calligraphy , and he sometimes gave lessons in Arabic calligraphy at Al-Rawda School in Jerusalem next to the court. He was also a member of the Literary Forum Society , and wrote poetry but was not published.

His death

During the 1948 war , he felt a severe headache and felt very ill. Because of the war, all hospitals in Palestine did not allow him to enter and he had to be transferred to the Italian Hospital in Amman , Jordan . There he died on June 26, 1948 . He was buried in his birthplace, Nablus , Palestine .
