Salah Abdel Fattah Al-Khalidi ( 1367 - 1443 AH / 1947 - 2022 AD ) is a Jordanian Muslim scholar of Palestinian origin , specializing in interpretation and Qur’anic sciences , a teacher, imam, preacher, and university professor.
His birth and education
Salah Abdel Fattah Al-Khalidi was born in the city of Jenin on 18 Muharram 1367 AH , corresponding to December 1, 1947 AD.
He worked in university teaching for about 35 years, and he had many seminars, lessons and books there and after, and he devoted himself to that in his last years, he began his quest for knowledge by obtaining a scholarship to Al-Azhar in 1965, and there the Sheikh took Al-Azhar secondary school, then entered the Faculty of Sharia and graduated in 1970, then studied for a master's degree in 1977 at Imam Muhammad bin Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, and the thesis he submitted was entitled: Sayyid Qutb and Artistic Imagery in the Qur’an and came in two parts: the first part is about the life of Sayyid Qutb , and the second is about Artistic Imagery in the Qur’an. The discussion took place in 1980 and the committee consisted of Professor Dr. Ahmed Hassan Farahat as supervisor, Professor Muhammad Qutb as examiner, and Sheikh Muhammad Al-Rawi as examiner. The Sheikh obtained a doctorate in interpretation and Qur’anic sciences in 1984 from the same university, and the thesis was entitled: In the Shade of the Qur’an - Study and Evaluation, and it was also supervised by Professor Dr. Ahmed Hassan Farahat , and discussed by Sheikh Manaa Al-Qattan and Professor Dr. Adnan Zarzur .
Among the most prominent sheikhs who taught him were Sheikh Musa al-Sayyid - one of the scholars of Palestine - Sheikh Muhammad al-Ghazali and Sheikh Abdul Halim Mahmoud. Al-Khalidi was greatly influenced by Sheikh Sayyid Qutb and his relationship with the Sheikh was one of love and discipleship. As for his personal relationship, there was no personal relationship between Sheikh Salah and Professor Sayyid Qutb, but the Sheikh studied his books.
His professional life
He returned from his studies in Cairo in 1970 and was appointed to the Jordanian Ministry of Endowments in 1971. He was appointed in Tafilah. He began his work as a preacher and rose through the ranks until he became the Director of Endowments there. He requested a transfer in 1975 to be appointed as an assistant to the Director of Endowments in Salt. A year later, he was sent to study for a master’s degree in Riyadh and returned in 1980. He worked as a teacher (affiliated with Endowments) at the College of Islamic Sciences in the Abdali area from 1981 until his retirement from Endowments in 1991. His last job was as Dean of the College. During the same period, he worked as a part-time teacher in a number of Sharia colleges in a number of universities, including the Jordanian and Yarmouk universities. During the period 1991-1998, he worked as a teacher at the College of Da’wa and Fundamentals of Religion, which was affiliated with Endowments at that time. After the college was incorporated into Balqa University , he worked as a professor there until 2008. He then moved to teach at The International Islamic University of Science and Technology and continued to do so until 2015.

His death
Salah Al-Khalidi died on Friday, 25 Jumada Al-Akhirah 1443 AH, corresponding to January 28, 2022 AD, in Amman, after contracting the Coronavirus.
