Omar bin Muhammad bin Ali Sub Laban , one of the most prominent scholars of the Sunnis and the community in Palestine and Jordan , was born in 1937 and died in 2011 in Jordan .

Sheikh Omar was born in the town of Kharas in the Hebron district of Palestine in 1937 , and grew up in a house of knowledge, as historians say that his thirty grandfathers were all educated scholars. His ninth grandfather was Muhammad bin Muhammad bin Sharaf al-Din al-Khalili, who was a teacher at Al-Azhar and the Shafi’i mufti in Jerusalem . He was called “the mayor of the eminent scholars” in Jerusalem . Sheikh Omar's lineage goes back to the Prophet Muhammad .

His life

Omar grew up in his father’s care, learning Islamic sciences from him, until in 1950 he met Sheikh Muhammad Hashim Al-Baghdadi. He joined him and attended the circles of knowledge and dhikr until he took his license from him in the Qadiriya Sufi order affiliated with Sheikh Abdul Qadir Al-Jilani . He traveled to Egypt from 1976 to 1985 , and studied at Al-Azhar . There he met Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawi . He spent more than 6 years with him and learned various Islamic sciences from him, until he became one of his special students. Among the sheikhs from whom he learned in Egypt was Abdul Hamid Kishk , who stayed with him for a period of time. Among his sheikhs are Ali Al-Sa’u and Muhammad Hashim Al-Ramini. He brought together in his study sheikhs from Palestine and Egypt .

He traveled to preach to Palestine , Jordan , Egypt , Saudi Arabia and other countries. He performed Hajj more than 4 times and performed Umrah more than 40 times.

His death

Sheikh Omar died in the city of Amman , Jordan , on Muharram 25 , 1433 AH, corresponding to November 28, 2011 , and was buried in Sahab Cemetery .
