The Jerusalemite player, Waad
Bakirat, won the bronze medal at the World Cup for Kickboxing Clubs, which was
held recently in Istanbul, Turkey.
Bakirat was crowned with a bronze
in the under-56 kg category for the juniors, after reaching the final rounds,
after defeating her Turkish opponent by a knockout.
The Kickboxing Federation
congratulated Bakirat on this achievement in her first international
participation, pointing to the high technical level in which the tournament is
characterized by the participation of elite male and female players from around
the world.
The tournament, which was held in
its seventh edition, recorded the participation of 2,700 male and female
players, representing 40 countries.
On the sidelines of the tournament,
Nizar Talib, Vice President of the Federation, met with the President of the
Indian Federation of the game, Santosh Agrawal, and briefed him on the
preparations for organizing the Palestine International Kickboxing Championship
next June.
Taleb invited the Indian team to
attend and participate in the first international tournament organized by
Palestine. At the end of the meeting, Taleb received a commemorative medal from
the Indian Football Association.
