Ahmed Shubaita, whose full name is Ahmed Omar Abdel Aziz Shubaita, is the Palestinian chess champion, and represented Palestine internationally in a number of tournaments. He was born in the town of Azzun in Qalqilya , and worked as an employee at the Palestine Islamic Bank in Ramallah.

He died on March 26, 2018, as a result of a heart attack at his home in the city of Al-Bireh.
