Nagham Abu Samra ( 1997 - January 11, 2024 ) is a Palestinian karate champion. She was martyred during the Palestinian-Israeli war on the Gaza Strip that has been raging since October 7, 2023.

Academic achievement

She holds a bachelor's and master's degree in physical education and opened the first women's gym in Gaza to train women in the martial art of "karate". She worked to spread the game among women. 

Death

Nagham Abu Samra was martyred on January 11 , 2024 , as a result of her leg amputation and various injuries to her body that put her in a coma, as a result of the Israeli occupation bombing of her house in the Nuseirat camp in the middle of the Gaza Strip in December 2023, during the war that Israel waged on the Strip from October 7, 2023. She was martyred in a hospital in Sinai, Egypt, while she was on her way to Turkey for treatment.

Awards

In 2017 and 2018, she won second place in the Palestine Karate Championship, and first place in the Gaza Strip . At a very young age, she obtained the black belt in the age groups in 2011 , and later joined the Palestinian national team.
