Ibrahim Shaker Mahmoud Khreisha ( January 1, 1966 -) is a Palestinian politician , born in the Palestinian city of Tulkarm , and is the Secretary-General of the Second Palestinian Legislative Council , and a member of the Revolutionary Council of the Fatah Movement .
His upbringing and education
Ibrahim Shaker Mahmoud Khreisha was born in the city of Tulkarm in the West Bank on January 1 , 1966. He received his primary, preparatory and secondary education in the schools of his city, Tulkarm . He obtained a bachelor's degree in business administration from Birzeit University in 1996 , then a master's degree in international studies in 2001 from the same university, and then a bachelor's degree in law in 2012 from Al-Quds University .
His political life
In 2000, he worked as a coordinator of the Palestinian Legislative Council committees , then in early 2006 he became the General Rapporteur of the Legislative Council , and on February 14, 2006 , Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas issued a presidential decree appointing him Secretary-General of the Palestinian Legislative Council , and in 2009 he won the elections for the Fatah Revolutionary Council to become a member of it.
Tulkarm Internal Crisis 2016
In the summer of 2016, an internal crisis erupted in the city of Tulkarm between the Fatah movement on the one hand, and the security services under the direction of the then Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah, who resides in Tulkarm, on the other hand; against the backdrop of the electricity crisis in the Tulkarm municipality . The Palestinian security services carried out extensive arrest campaigns targeting Fatah cadres in the city after their posts on the social networking site “ Facebook ” about the electricity crisis, the government, and its Prime Minister Rami Hamdallah . In light of this, dozens of Fatah cadres submitted their resignations from their official positions in the movement in protest of the situation.
On the evening of Thursday, August 4 , 2016 , Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas chaired an urgent meeting to follow up on the crisis, and issued a decision to conclude an immediate agreement between the Fatah movement in Tulkarm and the security services, whereby the agreement stipulates the release of all detainees from the Fatah movement, working to resolve the crises of the Tulkarm municipality calmly, and arresting instigators from all parties. However, the agreement quickly failed the next morning (Friday, August 5 , 2016 ) after the Secretary-General of the Palestinian Legislative Council, Ibrahim Khreisha, was assaulted and pepper-sprayed in front of his home in the city of Tulkarm , after Palestinian security forces raided the neighborhood in which he lives in the city, after which Khreisha was transferred to Al-Zakat Hospital in the city.
