1944, Deir Gassanhe/Ramallah. Member of PLC (Fida) & PLO-CC. A dentist former head of the Dentists Association; elected in 1976 on al-Bira municipal council, member of NGC & has had an active role in DFLP as central committee member & PNC delegate after he was deported by Israeli forces in 1985. Returned in 1993, became member of Fida, served as PA minister for youth & sports until May1996, & was the only member of Fida to be elected to PLC. Has since served as chair of PLC budget committee. Strong proponent of democratization and reform, establish with others the Palestinian Coalition for Accountability and Integrity (AMAN) 2002.
