Ahmed Hassan Awad Abu Houli is a Palestinian politician and member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization, and a deputy in the Palestinian Legislative Council, his nickname is Abu Ghraib, born in 1968 in the Maghazi camp. 2006, a member of the Fatah movement’s supreme leadership committee in July 2017, a former prisoner of the Zionist occupation for 4 years, a former wounded man who was shot by four bullets during confrontations with the Zionist occupation, and one of the founders of the first intifada in 1987.

Ahmed Abu Houli was born in the Maghazi refugee camp on the 27th of July 1968, where his parents took refuge from the city of Beersheba following the Nakba. Then he studied at Al-Azhar University in Gaza and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Political Science, and then a Master’s degree in Sociology from Ain Shams University In 2003, he received a PhD from the Research Institute in Egypt.

Ahmed Abu Houli began his remarkable activity in defending the rights of his Palestinian people in the mid-eighties, and he was the first to participate in the first intifada in 1987 and the first head of the Fatah Youth Organization at Al-Azhar University. University students financially and morally.

The Israeli authorities imprisoned him in 1987 for 4 years during the first intifada and arrested him more than six times. House arrest was imposed for a period of 8 months and he was banned from traveling to the West Bank and abroad.

After his sacrifices for the sake of the country and after taking the position of Director General in the Ministry of Interior and helping people and relieving their burdens and gaining their trust, he was elected as a member of the Legislative Council in 2006 on behalf of the Fatah movement in the Central Governorate Constituency. For his homeland and his cause, he was elected as a member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization in 2018 and head of the Refugee Affairs Department. He was also nominated for the award for the most influential person in the world in 2014.
