Saeed Kamal, whose full name is Muhammad Saeed Wasfi Kamal (Abu Ziyad; born on February 17, 1943 in Nablus - died on March 25, 2017 in Cairo) , a Palestinian politician and diplomat , and a member of the Palestinian National Council . He was the ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Arab Republic of Egypt , and a delegate He was a permanent member of the League of Arab States , Assistant Secretary-General of the League, and Head of the Palestine and Occupied Arab Territories Sector in the League. He was also a representative of Palestine in the Afro-Asian Peoples’ Solidarity Organization .
His life
He studied at An-Najah National College until 1956, then left to study at the College of Economics and Political Science in Baghdad in 1958, but he was deported from Iraq as a result of the July 1958 movement . He moved to Alexandria University and obtained a bachelor's degree in accounting .
Between 1966 and 1969, he was a member of the executive body of the General Union of Palestine Students , and later head of the Department of Palestinian Popular Organizations in Cairo until 1970, when he was appointed Deputy Director of the Palestine Liberation Organization Office in Egypt .
He worked in the Political Department of the Palestine Liberation Organization for about 18 years and was assistant to the head of the department.
After the declaration of Palestinian independence on November 15, 1988, he was appointed Ambassador of the State of Palestine to the Arab Republic of Egypt , as he was considered the first Ambassador of the State of Palestine to Cairo and continued in the position until 1994.
He assumed the duties of Assistant Secretary-General of the Arab League.
His death
Saeed Kamal died in the Egyptian capital, Cairo, on March 25, 2017.
