Majdi Abdel Rahman Muhammad Al-Khalidi (born on April 14, 1961 in Gaza ), a Palestinian diplomat, ambassador, and minister, holds the position of advisor to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas , especially for diplomatic affairs, and is a member of the Palestinian National Council and the Palestinian Central Council .

His upbringing and educational attainment

Majdi Abdel Rahman Muhammad Al-Khalidi was born in Gaza on April 14, 1961. His father is a Palestinian refugee who immigrated in 1948 from the city of Ramla in Palestine . Magdy Al-Khalidi received his primary, preparatory, and secondary education in Egyptian schools , and obtained the Egyptian secondary school certificate.

Al-Khalidi obtained a bachelor’s degree in “ Engineering ” from Romania in 1984. After that, he left for Canada and the United States of America, where he obtained a master’s degree in “Technology Industry,” then he obtained a doctorate in “Management” from Mexico , and a diploma in “Government.” Al-Rasheed from Harvard University.

Political and diplomatic life

Al-Khalidi participated in the Palestinian negotiating team between 1992 and 1993 , and in 2002 he became Assistant Undersecretary of the Palestinian Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation.

In 2004, Al-Khalidi became an advisor to Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas , and in 2005 he became an advisor to the elected Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and in the same year he obtained the rank of ambassador in the Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs , and in 2013 he obtained the rank of minister.

In 2015 , Italian President Sergio Mattarella awarded him the Order of Merit of the Italian Republic, rank of Knight , in the presence of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas .
