Taha Muhammad Mahmoud Abd al-Qadir, whose nom de guerre is Khaled Aref (Abu Adham; born 1946 in Kawkab Abu al-Hija) is a Palestinian politician and diplomat, and a member of the Palestinian Revolutionary Council from 2009–2016. He was sworn in as Ambassador Plenipotentiary of the State of Palestine to Bahrain on October 6, 2010 in front of Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, and on April 12, 2011 he presented his credentials to Bahraini King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa.
The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates decided to withdraw him from Bahrain as a result of Bahrain signing a normalization agreement with Israel on September 11, 2020. On November 18, 2020, he was returned.
Foundation
Taha Muhammad Mahmoud Abd al-Qader was born in the village of Kawkab Abu al-Hija in the Galilee district in 1946. His family had emigrated to Lebanon as a result of the 1948 Arab-Israeli war (the Nakba), and the most prominent military battles (Operation Hiram) launched by the Zionist militias to occupy the Upper Galilee. His family lives in Sidon.
