Hatem Muhammad Abd al-Qadir Eid
(born May 20, 1953 in Jerusalem) is a Palestinian politician, former minister,
and a member of the Fatah movement. Hatem participated in the Palestinian
negotiating delegation in 1991 to Madrid and Washington. He was elected as a
member of the Jerusalem Governorate constituency and a representative of the
Fatah movement in the first Palestinian Legislative Council in 1996, with 8,307
votes. He was appointed as an advisor to the Prime Minister in 2008, and in May
2009 he was appointed Minister of Jerusalem Affairs in Salam Fayyad's second
government, but he resigned within weeks. He won membership in the Fatah
Revolutionary Council after the Sixth Fatah Congress in 2009, and its Seventh
Congress in 2016.
Educational attainment
He holds a BA in Journalism and
Media from Al-Azhar University in Cairo.
