Sobhi Abdel-Fattah Ahmed Al-Qasim (born in 1934 in Balaa, Tulkarm - died on May 25, 2020 in Amman), a Palestinian-Jordanian politician and professor.
His upbringing and educational attainment
Sobhi Abd al-Fattah Ahmad al-Qasim was born in 1934 in the town of Balaa in the Tulkarm Governorate. He received his education at the Kadoorie Agricultural Institute in the city of Tulkarm. In August 1959, he received a Ph.D. in "Plant Pathology and Plant Breeding" from the University of Minnesota in the United States of America.

Director of the University of Jordan Library, from December 27, 1967 until November 17, 1968.
Founder and first dean of the Faculty of Agriculture at the University of Jordan, from 1973 to 1980.
Dean of the Faculty of Science at the University of Jordan, from 1980 to 1984.
Dean of the Faculty of Graduate Studies at the University of Jordan, 1986.
Jordanian Minister of Agriculture, in 1991, in the government of Taher al-Masri.

Sobhi Al-Qassem died in Jordan on Monday, May 25, 2020, at the age of 86, and was buried in the Umm Al-Hiran cemetery in the capital, Amman.
