Faidi Al-Alami was the mayor of Jerusalem between 1906 and 1909. In 1914, he was elected as a representative of the city of Jerusalem in the Ottoman Parliament. His father, Musa Al-Alami, also served as mayor of Jerusalem in the nineteenth century.

His son, Musa Al-Alami, who bore the name of his grandfather, was the Attorney General of Palestine under the British Mandate.
