Basil Adra is a Palestinian filmmaker and journalist born in the town of At-Tuwani in the Hebron municipality ,  and residing in Masafer Yatta .  He co-wrote and directed the documentary film No Other Land in 2024, which premiered at the 74th Berlin International Film Festival , winning the Berlinale Award for Best Documentary and the Panorama Audience Award for Best Documentary.  Basil works as a volunteer photographer for B'Tselem .  He also works as a journalist for the online publications +972 Magazine and Local Call.  In 2021, Hakol Hayehudi and Channel 12 falsely accused him of setting fire to a building in the Hebron Hills area of the West Bank, saying he wanted to frame the Israeli occupation army . On May 8, 2022, he was beaten by Israeli occupation forces while filming them demolishing a building he had built.
