Shireen Nasri Abu Aqleh (born in 1971 in Jerusalem) is a Palestinian journalist with the Al Jazeera media network.
She initially studied architecture at the University of Science and Technology in Jordan, then moved to the written journalism major, and obtained a bachelor's degree from Yarmouk University in Jordan.
After graduating, she returned to Palestine and worked in several sites such as UNRWA, Voice of Palestine Radio, Amman Satellite Channel, then the Miftah Foundation, Monte Carlo Radio and later moved to work in 1997 with Al Jazeera satellite channel and still is until now.
On May 11, 2022, the Palestinian Ministry of Health announced that she had been shot in the head and that her condition was very critical while covering the Israeli army's incursion into Jenin camp. Minutes later, the Ministry of Health announced that she had died in the emergency department of Ibn Sina Specialized Hospital in Jenin from serious head injuries.
