Jad Al-Karim Abu Lafi, better known as Jad Lafi (1949 - 2006), is a Palestinian poet, writer, television and theater director.
Jad al-Karim Suleiman Hussein Lafi was born on January 20, 1949, in Khan Yunis[1].

He began his career in the United Arab Emirates as a poet, writer, television and theater director. He became the director of the directing department at Abu Dhabi TV, and was one of the first to lay the foundation stone for the station.

He worked as an assistant director in famous Egyptian films, including: Birds of Darkness.
In the nineties, he returned to his homeland, Palestine, to be one of the foundation pillars of the Palestinian Radio and Television Corporation, and a media advisor to President Yasser Arafat. He worked on transferring Palestine TV a qualitative leap from a terrestrial channel to a satellite channel, and founded several programs such as:
