Aref Salim Al-Masoudi, a Palestinian journalist, has worked on Radio Voice of Palestine since he was a student at Ain Shams University in Cairo in the sixties of the last century, and traveled in the diaspora between Cairo, Daraa, Baghdad and Algeria. The deceased is considered one of the founders of the Palestinian Radio and Television Corporation in Ramallah after his return to the Palestinian territories in the nineties, and he presented the “Religion and Life” program on Palestinian television for more than 15 years. He also worked as a lecturer at the Faculty of Mass Communication at Birzeit University for more than 12 years, and was one of the dignitaries of the town of Deir Ballut, west of Salfit.

Aref Salim Khader was born in the village of Deir Ballut, west of Salfit, on 18-6-1946. He received his primary, preparatory, and secondary studies in the village schools, Kafr Al-Dik, and Al-Najah School in Nablus. Then he obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Ain Shams University, Department of Arabic Language, in 1969 in Egypt, and trained Practically in the Voice of the Arabs in Cairo in 1968. And a course in radio programs from the Cairo Radio Training Institute in 1971.

The deceased worked from 1968-1974 as an announcer and head of the broadcasters’ department, and director of Voice of Palestine Radio in Cairo, Baghdad, Algeria and Syria.

He moved to Libya to work as a broadcaster on Radio Libya, then as general director of programs, from 1974-1984.

In 1984, he worked as an announcer in the Voice of Palestine, Baghdad branch, then as an editor at the Central Media in Amman and a reporter for the Saudi Al-Youm newspaper, an editor in the Jordanian Al-Dustour newspaper, and managing editor in the Jordanian Shehan newspaper until 1994.

In 1995, he became a broadcaster on the Voice of Palestine Radio, then a general manager at the Palestinian Radio and Television Corporation until 2005.

In addition to his radio work, the late worked as a part-time lecturer in the Media Department - Faculty of Arts at Birzeit University from 2000-2008.

He carried out a number of radio courses with a number of media institutions in the art of radio broadcasting and writing for radio and programs, including:

Honor certificates

Journalist Aref Salim won the Medal and Shield of the Tenth Radio and Television Festival - Cairo in 2005. He received certificates of appreciation from the Palestinian Radio and Television Corporation, the House of Poetry, the Political Guidance and the Homeland in Palestine.
