A Palestinian anchor, was working in Syria TV for many years.
He was born in Haifa 1939, in 1948 he was expelled with his family to Syria, studied his primary and preparatory stage in Damascus; member of the Syrian Artist Association 1968; founding member of the Union of the Palestinian Writers and Journalists; founding member of the General Union of the Palestinian Artists and was elected as its secretary-general 1970; Yaqoub and a large number of artists launched the Palestinian National Theater. In 1963, he started to work in Media as a journalist in (Sawt Falasteen) in Damascus.
Although the early fifties saw the beginning of political parties and national movements, Yaqoub had a different opinion, that belonging to Palestine is bigger and more important than the affiliation to the parties, but this did not prevent him from taking part in the events that was held by the parties.
Died in 17-10-1986.
