The Palestinian young woman, Maryam Nabil Al-Hosari, from the Gaza Strip, achieved an environmentally friendly achievement, as a result of which she deserved to win the “Doha Oasis Innovation 2019” competition organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports in the State of Qatar.
Al-Husari designed the "Smart Container" project, which aims to preserve the green environment and collect waste that may lead to environmental pollution.
The container sorts plastic and metal waste from each other in order to recycle them in a technological way, as the container gives everyone who throws garbage inside it free internet service, charging his smartphone battery, in addition to a set of motivational phrases.
The smart container also works with solar energy, and is equipped with sensors to monitor and measure the level of waste and report when the container is full. The municipality is notified by remote sensing, and a message is sent to them that it must be emptied.
