In his home in the Ras al-Amoud neighborhood overlooking the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque in the city of Jerusalem, Al-Maqdisi Jamil Abu Madi (33 years old) spends his time practicing his hobby of scientific experiments, which have so far resulted in two innovations, one of which was recently patented, and he aspires to the third innovation within the next year.
It took six months to plan his new innovation, “converting gasoline in cars from liquid to gas,” while it took another six months to implement and install it on his personal car, before it saw the light of day at Palestine Polytechnic University, where the device was tested and proven successful.
The idea of the invention was born from a question that came to Abu Madi’s mind about the possibility of producing gas from gasoline. Through experiments, he was able to prove this and invented a device that he said works to convert gasoline into gas using heat. “Gasoline boils at a temperature between 70 and 80 degrees Celsius, and after it boils "It turns it into hot steam by passing it through copper pipes."
He added that heating gasoline is done using car exhaust, which reaches a temperature of 300 degrees Celsius. This is done by installing thin copper tubes to pass liquid gasoline through them and absorb the heat of the exhaust. Thus, it boils inside these tubes and then turns into steam and passes through sprays before it reaches the combustion chamber.
