The inventor Azzam Azmi Al-Shamas obtained a patent for a machine for producing construction wood wedges from the Palestinian Ministry of National Economy/General Administration of Intellectual Property Rights. This is in partnership with Palestine Polytechnic University under a scientific cooperation and partnership agreement signed by the University’s Vice President for Community Service Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Ghazi Al-Qawasmi.
This machine is considered the first of its kind in the field of manufacturing wood wedges in terms of the mechanical idea and engineering precision itself and its features related to the production quantity and providing occupational safety for workers in addition to saving energy.
It is worth mentioning that Al-Shamas is interested in the field of innovation and manufacturing of machines, and he submitted a proposal to Palestine Polytechnic University for scientific and practical partnership through the Center for Integration with Industry. The university adopted the invention and a team was identified to work on developing and automating the invention under the supervision of Eng. Makkawi Hariz and A. The package applies to the practical implementation of electronic machine automation.
It should also be noted that the Supreme Council for Creativity and Excellence formed a committee from the university that included Dr. Ramzi Al-Qawasmi and Dr. Raed Amr and M. Irons Hariz to review the invention, and then the Council made a financial contribution to support the idea of the invention by supporting the purchase of some of the industrial equipment necessary for this.
The Vice President of the University for Community Service Affairs, Dr. Muhammad Ghazi Al-Qawasmi pointed out that supporting and encouraging local creative ideas comes in harmony with the strategic direction of Palestine Polytechnic University towards leadership; With the aim of improving the scientific and practical level of all segments of society.
