Palestinian chemical engineer Dr. Amjad Al-Qani received the silver medal and the 2019 GIF Special Award at the World GIF Forum held in Limassol, Cyprus.
Al-Qani presented his project to develop nanomaterials based on metal oxide to treat wastewater and remove pollutants and heavy metals, winning a silver medal, representing the Supreme Council for Creativity and Discrimination at the Global Forum.
Ten different countries participated in the World Invention Forum, including Palestine, Switzerland, Taiwan, China, Croatia, Russia, Poland, Serbia, Egypt and Cyprus.
It is mentioned that Dr. Amjad Al-Qani is a researcher and lecturer in the Departments of Chemical, Energy and Environmental Engineering at An-Najah National University in Nablus and holds a master’s degree in the field of urban environmental engineering from the University of Ecole Centrale de Nantes in France. He also obtained a doctorate in chemical and petroleum engineering, specializing in energy and environment, from the University of Calgary in Canada.
