A won. Doaa Ghosheh Wahba, a student in the Doctorate of Learning and Teaching program at An-Najah National University, and her co-worker, graphic designer Lina Youssef, participated in the Khalifa Educational Award for Innovative Educational Projects in the Arab World in its thirteenth session of 2020.
The student, Wahba, was able to win the Education for Community Development project, as the project included a developed educational model that combines strategies of inquiry, problem solving, and cooperative education, after the student wrote a book for students and teachers that included 20 educational lessons according to the model to achieve pioneering ideas that develop society, enhance values, and take into account intelligence. .
Wahba says in this regard: “I had been working on the project for more than a year, but I was not able to link it to an educational framework and organize it scientifically except through the concepts and skills I learned from the Doctorate of Learning and Teaching program related to entrepreneurial education and sustainable development in the course of contemporary issues and trends in Teaching and learning with Dr. Saida Affouna, and from international educational models in the teaching and learning strategies course with Prof. Dr. Afnan Darwaza, and from qualitative research methodology and tools with Prof. Dr. Wajih Dhaher, and as soon as I finished the chapter, I was able to apply what I learned to organize work. “The project was based on an educational framework that led me to create this model.”
The project was implemented in 21 Palestinian schools, and was evaluated by teachers and students. The results showed its effectiveness in developing the students’ desired skills, and its connection to the goals of sustainable development.
It should be noted that the Khalifa Educational Award is an international award that aims to support education and motivate distinguished people and creative educational practices. It was launched by Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and is headquartered in Abu Dhabi. It includes 11 educational fields, including distinguished educational research and innovative educational projects at the national level. Arabi.
It is noteworthy that the student Wahba works as head of the training department at the National Institute for Educational Training, and in 2017 she won the Distinguished Educational Research Award in a joint research with Dr. Shahnaz Alfar.
