Mohammed Al-Khatib is an Associate Professor in Urban Geography and Urban Planning. He obtained his Ph.D. from the Arab Republic of Egypt in 2009, a Master's degree in Urban and Regional Planning in 2004, and a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Urban Studies in 2000. Since October 1, 2004, he has been a full-time faculty member in the Department of Geography and Urban Studies at the Faculty of Arts.
Throughout his career, Mohammed has held various administrative positions, including Assistant Academic Dean of the Faculty of Arts for three years and Chair of the Department of Geography and Urban Studies for three terms. He has actively participated in numerous scientific conferences and seminars in his field of specialization and has contributed to local community development and planning initiatives.
Mohammed's scholarly interests lie in urban studies, including urbanization, urban development, urban dominance, visual pollution in cities, and related issues. He also focuses on urban development planning and urban housing. He has made scholarly and academic contributions through his work as a reviewer for several reputable scientific journals, including the Journal of Al-Aqsa University in Gaza and the Journal of Planning and Development at the University of Baghdad. Additionally, he has served as a reviewer for academic works at the Arab Center for Research and Policy Studies in Qatar.
Furthermore, Mohammed has supervised several Master's theses as part of the Master's program in Geography and Regional Planning. He has also served as an external examiner for Master's programs in Geography, Geographic Information Systems, and Urban and Regional Planning across Palestine.
