Mahmoud Musa Ahmed Abu Mois (May 7, 1953 in Jenin ) is a Palestinian university professor and dentist . He holds a PhD in dentistry . He served as Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the government of Muhammad Shtayyeh from April 13, 2019 until March 31, 2024. 

Early life and education

Mahmoud Abu Mois was born in Jenin in 1952. He received his primary, preparatory and secondary education in the city, and obtained a bachelor's degree in oral and dental medicine and surgery from Cairo University in 1976. He obtained a master's degree from the University of London in 1984, and obtained a fellowship in oral surgery and medicine from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland in 1987. Abu Mois holds a board certificate in oral and maxillofacial surgery from Jordan and Palestine . 

On Sunday, September 3, 2023, he was assigned to run the Ministry of Education in the government of Mohammad Shtayyeh after the announcement of the approval of the resignation of its Minister, Marwan Awartani .
