Samir Abdullah Saleh Abu Aisha (August 25, 1960) is a professor of civil engineering at the Faculty of Engineering at An-Najah National University in Nablus . He held the planning portfolio in the tenth Palestinian government and in the (eleventh) national unity government in 2006-2007.
His upbringing and life
Born in the village of Beit Wazan on August 25, 1960, he obtained a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Jordan in 1982, after which he traveled to the United States of America , and completed his Master's thesis in the same specialization at Pennsylvania State University in 1984, then his PhD in Transportation Planning from the same university in 1987. He worked in teaching, research and administration (Dean of the Faculty of Engineering and Assistant to the President for Planning and Development) at An-Najah University, and was a visiting professor at a number of universities in Europe and America before accepting the position of Minister of Planning. He also worked as an advisor in a number of ministries and with a number of international bodies.
