Информация

He was born in Nablus. He graduated from the Higher Teachers' Training College in Istanbul and returned to Nablus in 1908. He worked as a teacher and then became the director of the Sultaniyya School in Diyarbakir (present-day Turkey). During World War I, he became the assistant director of supplies in Damascus and the treasurer of the public relief fund. When the Ottoman forces withdrew from Damascus in October 1918, he had about half a million Turkish gold liras in the relief fund. On the night of the withdrawal, the Turkish governor came to his house and asked for ten thousand liras. Abdul Fattah gave him what he wanted, and then the governor told him, "You manage the rest." As soon as King Faisal bin Hassan entered Damascus, Abdul Fattah Malhas met with him and told him about the money he had. The king sent soldiers to his house, and they transferred all the money and the account books to the Emirate Palace. The financial officer there was Khairi Abdul Hadi, who recorded these funds under the name "Abdul Fattah Malhas's Trust." This became known and famous, and people used his honesty as an example. He devoted himself to teaching after the French occupation of Damascus, and a large number of leaders of the national movement graduated under his tutelage, who led the Syrian Arab people to liberation and independence. He died in Damascus, leaving behind two books.
