Nada Abdel-Fattah is an Australian Palestinian Egyptian Muslim living in
Sydney where she practices as a lawyer. Nada is passionate about social justice and uses her various platforms to raise awareness about Palestine, anti-racism, human rights and justice causes and campaigns.
Nada was admitted as a lawyer of the Supreme Court Australia in November 2004 having graduated with a Bachelor of Law and Bachelor of Commerce and subsequently completing her practical legal training at the Leo Cussen Institute. Nada also completed her Mediation Training Program and National Assessment with the College of Law in 2016 to attain her accreditation as a mediator.
Prior to commencing her current role as an In House Lawyer for the Catholic Diocese, Nada has practised in various areas of law and for a large number of clients including major insurance companies, the NSW Police Force, the Department of Education and the Catholic Church.
In her current role and stemming from previous work for the Catholic Church, Nada has been involved in managing various historical professional standards / child protection claims.

Catholic Diocese of Broken Bay (2017 – to current).
At the Diocese, Nada is the sole In House Legal Counsel across the Diocesan Office and all Diocesan Parishes and her role covers a wide range of areas related to Diocesan activity, including legislative compliance, child protection, contractual review/negotiation and drafting, property and commercial matters, discrimination claims and privacy concerns, copyright and general advice.
Makinson d’Apice Lawyers (2010-2017).
In this role, Nada managed claims across a variety of clients including discrimination claims for the Department of Education, child protection/historical professional standards claims for Catholic Church Insurance and unlawful arrest, false imprisonment and trespass claims brought against the NSW Police.
Holman Webb Lawyers (2006 – 2010).
At Holman Webb, Nada predominantly dealt with insurance litigation focused on public liability, personal injury, medical negligence and property damage actions, including enforcement and recovery actions.
Merhi & Associates (2005-2006).
General civil and family law claims/advice.
Hollows Lawyers (2005).
Nada’s work at Hollows Lawyers involved acting in the complex Melbourne-Voyager Supreme Court litigation.
