Ensaf Hassan Khairo Qalaji, a
Jordanian writer of Palestinian origin, born in Haifa in 1946. Her husband is
the academic Khaled Al-Karaki.
Her upbringing and biography
Insaf Qalaji graduated from high
school at the Rosary Sisters College in Amman in 1966, and obtained a BA in
Arabic language and literature from the University of Jordan in 1970, then a
master’s degree in literary criticism from the School of Oriental and African
Studies at the University of London in 1980. She worked at the University of
Jordan as head of the Diwan At the Faculty of Economics and Commerce
(1970-1975), then a bibliography researcher at the University Library
(1975-1976). She also assumed responsibility for the cultural file in the women's
magazine "Farah" in Amman (1993), and continued writing her articles
for several years in the Jordanian weekly newspaper, "Al-Majd".
Insaf is a member of the Jordanian
Writers Association, and a member of its administrative board, which was
elected in 2011. She is also a member of the Jordanian Astronomical Society.
