Anwar Amr Arafat (1911-1971) is a Palestinian writer and poet who was born in the city of Nablus . He studied primary and secondary school at An-Najah College in Nablus, and obtained a bachelor’s degree in science from the American University of Beirut . He died in 1971 in the city of Nablus .
Working life
Arafat began his work as an employee in the Nablus District Governor’s Department in 1936 , then as an English language teacher in Iraq in 1937 , then as an employee in the Public Works Department in Nablus until his resignation in 1939. He also worked as an editor in Al-Sarih newspaper , and director of the Cultural Institute. He was also a member of the Council of Ministers. Al-Salamah in Jerusalem , in addition to his work as secretary of the Chamber of Commerce and Economic Affairs in Nablus and many other trade and international associations, then he became president of the Trade Organization.
His works
Arafat wrote many diverse works, including poems , collections , and plays , which contributed greatly to making history in Palestine before the Nakba .
