Tawfiq Muammar (1914-1988) is a Palestinian writer and lawyer . He was born in Haifa and raised in Nazareth . He studied elementary and secondary school at the Scottish College in Safed . He obtained a degree in science and history from the American University of Beirut . He obtained a degree from the Palestinian Law Institute in Jerusalem in 1940. Before his death, he made his house a waqf for the Orthodox Community Council in Nazareth, located in the Bishop's Square at the entrance to the old Nazareth market, to serve the people as a cultural institution called the House of Culture and Arts. 

He began his career in the Attorney General's Office during the period (1935-1938). Then he became a public prosecutor in Jerusalem, and opened his first law office in the city of Haifa. He died alone in Nazareth in 1988. 

His literary works 

Muammar began early in literary writing, writing many short stories and articles in newspapers and magazines that were published before the Nakba, the most important of which are: 

The Infiltrator and Other Stories was published in 1959.
Memoirs of a Refugee, published in 1958.
The novel "Bethoun" was published in 1959.
Zahir al-Umar, a historical book published in 1979.
Haifa in Battle, published in 1987.
