Zakaria Ibrahim Hassan al-Sinwar ( Abu Yahya ; March 7, 1965-) is a Palestinian historian and academic , born in Khan Yunis camp in the Gaza Strip . He completed his secondary education in Khan Yunis in 1983. He obtained a BA in History from the Islamic University and a general diploma from Al-Aqsa University . In 2003, he obtained a Master's degree and then a PhD in the History of Zionism from the Institute of Arab Research and Studies in Cairo in 2006.
He served as Director of the Oral History Center at the Islamic University during the period 2000-2002, and as an Associate Professor in the Department of History at the Faculty of Arts at the same university. He is also a faculty member at the Lebanese Staff Academy.
His research
Dr. Sinwar prepared a group of researches, the most important of which are:
Zionist Industry in Palestine (1918-1948), a study published in the Journal of Al-Quds Open University for Humanities and Social Research.
The massacres that the people of Jaffa were subjected to in the last third of the eighteenth century AD , a study published in the Al-Quds Open University Journal for Humanities and Social Research.
The role of Ord Wingate in developing Zionist military capabilities, Islamic University Journal, Gaza, 2007.
The displacement of the people of the Gaza Strip: a comparative model study between the Palestinian oral narrative and the Zionist narrative, Islamic University Journal 2007.
