Wafaa Ahmed Hamed Al-Adhami was born in the city of Hebron in the occupied West Bank on November 16, 1972. She is married and has five sons and a daughter. She studied primary school at Al-Yaqoubia, Cordoba, and Nusaybah Al-Mazniya schools, and secondary school at Barakat Secondary School. She obtained her high school diploma in the scientific branch in 1990, and obtained an intermediate diploma in interior design from Palestine Polytechnic University in Hebron in 1992. She worked in a private school for two years, then moved to the field of drawing, and was able to invent drawing paste using building materials and acrylic colors. She held her first solo exhibition in 2019, which included 40 artistic paintings completed using the drawing paste she invented.

Al-Adhami won the title of Best Visual Artist in the Innovation Category with the Arab Group - London in 2020. She also participated in organizing a number of group exhibitions in the Hebron Governorate, and held a number of electronic exhibitions in Palestine and the Arab world during the Corona pandemic, where she organized an electronic exhibition entitled (Drawing from Home Quarantine) with the participation of seventy artists from Palestine and the Arab world. Her drawings specialized in documenting the effects of the destruction caused by the occupation, as the displaced villages were one of the main titles in her drawings, in addition to the right of return for Palestinian refugees. She also sought through her visual art to establish the Palestinian identity and the right of the Palestinian people to their land and property.

Al-Adhami produced an artwork entitled “Long-Necked People,” in which she portrayed the situation of a group of young people in the Gaza Strip who were exhausted by the long years of siege. They migrated by sea, leaving behind division, siege, and destruction. Their necks stretched out, yearning for the unknown in search of freedom and livelihood, but they found nothing but loss and death at sea. The video clip in which a young man from Gaza sends a message to his mother saying, “Oh, mother, the boat has capsized and a shark is eating the flesh of my friends,” had a great impact on the completion of her painting, which consisted of boats with young people on board, destruction behind them, and death in front of them represented by sharks.

The first Intifada was a turning point and intellectual maturity for Al-Adhami, and during that period he was active in popular education that the Palestinians practiced in response to the occupation’s closure of schools, which took place in mosques, halls and homes.

Al-Adhami believes that national unity is the path to salvation, and that national partnership is an absolute necessity, and a tool to achieve the Palestinians’ goal of eliminating the occupation from the land of historic Palestine. She believes that division is more dangerous than occupation and is one of the obstacles to life, and that the dignity of the Palestinian people lies in resisting the occupation, defeating it, and achieving the right of return for refugees to their homes from which they were displaced. She believes that the Palestinian political system is a relative guarantor of freedoms, while the Arab situation that the Arab world has been experiencing since 2011 is a spontaneous revolution.
