Muhammad Naim Yassin , whose birth name was Naim Abd al-Salam Ibrahim Yassin (Abu Amr; born June 11, 1943 in Salfit – died January 2, 2023 in Jordan Hospital in Amman ) , was a Palestinian writer , author , academic, and Islamic preacher .
His life
Muhammad Naim Yassin was born on June 11, 1943 in the town of Salfit during the British Mandate over Palestine, where he received his school education there and in Nablus . He joined the University of Damascus and obtained a university degree in Sharia in 1964, and a university degree in law in 1965.
Later, he completed his postgraduate studies, obtaining a Master's degree in Islamic Sharia from Al-Azhar University in 1968, and a Master's degree in Law from Cairo University in 1968. He also obtained a PhD in Islamic Sharia in 1972 from Al-Azhar University .
He worked as a professor at the Faculty of Sharia at the University of Jordan , the Faculty of Sharia and Law at Qatar University , the Faculty of Sharia at Kuwait University, which he co-founded, and the Faculty of Sharia and Law at the World Islamic Sciences University in Jordan.
He was also a member of several bodies, universities and scientific committees, most notably: the Jordanian Fatwa Council, the Committee for the Establishment of the Faculty of Sharia at Kuwait University , the Kuwaiti Ministry of Endowments and Justice, Qatar University, the University of Jordan, the University of Applied Sciences in Jordan, the College of Islamic and Arabic Studies in Dubai, the United Arab Emirates University and the International Islamic Sciences University .
Grants and Awards
In 1964, he received a scholarship from the Jordanian Ministry of Education to study at university, after passing the 1960 high school exam and obtaining a superior rank on both banks.
In 1966, he received a scholarship from the Jordanian Ministry of Education to study for a master’s degree.
In 1968, he received a scholarship from the Jordanian Ministry of Education to study for a doctorate.
In 1989, he received the Islamic Organization for Medical Sciences Award in the field of medical jurisprudence, which is granted by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Sciences .

His death
He died on Monday, 9 Jumada al-Akhirah 1444 AH, corresponding to January 2, 2023 AD, in Jordan Hospital in the Jordanian capital, Amman. He was buried in the North Amman Cemetery in Shafa Badran on January 3, 2023. Hamas had mourned him in a statement issued following the news of his death.
