Salah (Salaheddin) Al Husseini was born in the Gaza Strip in 1935. He joined Fatah movement in 1967 and he authored the first anthem for the Palestinian revolution which was called later anthem of Al-‘Asifa (the revolutionary name of Fatah movement). In 1971, Al-Husseini was appointed military spokesman for all Palestinian factions, and in 1975 he co-founded the Palestinian theater and popular arts foundation in Beirut. After the Palestine Liberation Organization PLO left Beirut in 1982, he established a band whose members were children of Palestinian martyrs. The band traveled around the world to publicize Palestinian resistance and recruit support.
Salah died in Cairo on 11. Jan 2011.
