Raja Sumrain is a Palestinian poet and author, who was born in Qalunya, East of Jerusalem 1929. Raja received his primary education in his village and Lifta School; secondary education in Al-Ma'aref National School in Jerusalem, studied Arabic language in Al-Azhar University 1955; MA and PhD degrees from the same university (1967, 1972), worked in teaching and as an Arabic Literature lecturer in Palestine, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait.

Raja is a member of the following:
the Jordanian Writers Society.
Arab Writers Union.
General Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists.
