Zakaria Shaheen was born in Jerusalem in 1945. He obtained a Diploma in Political Science. Zakaria is the director of Jerusalem Broadcast; chief-editor of "Amwaj" Magazine; writer of "Al-Arab" Newspaper which is being issued in London; former chief-editor of "Ela Al-Amam" Magazine in Beirut.

He is a member of the Union of the Palestinian Writers and Journalists. Zakaria currently lives in Tripoli, Libya.
