Born in Palestine, his family was expelled to Damascus in the 1948 Nakba. He studied Mathematics in the American University; studied Philosophy in Damascus University; obtained a Licentiate in Philosophical and Social studies, received his MA in Philosophy from the American University of Beirut, continued his studies in Australia; PhD in Marxism.
