Saleem Shehadeh was born in Ramallah in 1893, received his school education in Jerusalem; he then joined the American University of Beirut (AUB); graduated in 1910. Saleem has worked as a tutor in one of Homs secondary schools.
In 1912, he left to the United States where he received his MA from the University of Nebraska; PhD in Philosophy from Cornell University in 1916; studied Law at Brooklyn University in New York. Following the World War I, he joined the Military of the United States as a psychologist. In 1921, he returned to Palestine where he worked at "Mir'at Al Sharq" Newspaper which was established by his brother "Bolous Shehadeh" in Jerusalem; appointed as an inspector general of the Directorate of Justice in the Palestinian Government; retired in 1946. Saleem died in Beirut in 1949.
