Khalil Hindi (1944 - ) is a Palestinian writer and academic born in the village of al-Tantura near Haifa in 1944, and lived with his family as a refugee from 1948 until 1962 in the city of Tulkarm in Palestine. He received a scholarship and then moved to Lebanon to study at the American University of Beirut. He lived in England (in the cities of Manchester and London) between 1971 and 2002, when he began working at the American University of Beirut. In addition to scientific research, he wrote from time to time on Palestinian and Arab affairs. He was appointed President of Birzeit University at the beginning of the 2010-2011 academic year.
He received his primary, preparatory and secondary education in the schools of the city of Tulkarm; Where he studied at Al-Fadhelia School in Medina, then obtained his bachelor's, master's and doctoral degrees in electrical engineering, in addition to a higher doctorate in administrative sciences.
Between December 2008 and August 2010, Hindi worked as Associate Dean and Chair Professor of Administrative Sciences at the Faculty of Management at the American University of Beirut, and between December 2002 and December 2008 he was Chair Professor of Engineering Management at the Faculty of Engineering and at the same time Professor Chair of Science Administrative at the Faculty of Management at the American University of Beirut. During the period between December 1998 and December 2002, he worked as Professor of Systems Engineering at Brunel University in England. For ten years, until 1998, Dr. Indian at University of Manchester and before for eight years at South Bank University in London.
He is also active in volunteer work; He is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Abdul Mohsen Al-Qattan Foundation, a member of the Board of Trustees of the Institute for Palestine Studies, and the General Assembly of the Welfare Foundation, and he was a member of the General Authority of the Palestine Investment Fund.
