Seif al-Din Mahmoud Zaid al-Kilani (1914 - 3 June 1968) was a Palestinian-Jordanian writer, educator and poet. He was born in the city of Al-Qunfudah in the Hijaz and educated in the schools of Nablus and Jaffa, then moved to Jerusalem and studied at the Arab College there, and from there he went to Australia and obtained a professorship in education. He worked in the teaching field as an educator, an inspector and a manager. He participated in several international conferences, representing the government of Jordan in Syria, Egypt, Lebanon and Libya. Then he took over the Jordanian embassy in Morocco, and was appointed as a professor at the University of Rabat. He died there and was buried in Amman. He received a number of Jordanian and Moroccan honors. He has several books on education and educational administration and wrote some textbooks for teaching Arabic. He also has two collections titled Khaljat Qalb and homesickness.

Saif Al-Din Mahmoud Zaid Al-Kilani was born in 1914 AD / 1332 AH in the city of Al-Qunfudah in the Hijaz when his father was an employee there. He studied in public schools in Nablus and Jaffa, then moved to Jerusalem, continued his studies at the Arab College, and obtained a teacher’s exam certificate in 1937.
He was appointed as a teacher at Hebron High School, then as director of the Tiberias School, then resigned from education and worked as a secretary for the Arab Nation Bank in Jerusalem, then as director of its branch in Nablus.
After the catastrophe of 1948, he was appointed as a teacher at Kirkuk High School in Iraq, then as a teacher at Ibn Rushd High School in Hama, Syria, then returned to Jordan, and was appointed director of Irbid High School, then director of Salt High School.
He was sent on a scientific mission at the expense of the International Education, Culture and Science Organization to Australia and obtained a diploma in 1954, then traveled to New Zealand, the United States, Britain, and France during 1954 - 1956. He received a doctorate in Education from Ain Shams University in Cairo, 1960.
He was then appointed as an inspector in the Ministry of Education, and undersecretary for the Ministry of Construction and Development in 1962, then as Minister of Construction and Development in 1965. He was appointed Jordan's ambassador to Rabat, Morocco in 1966, and then as a lecturer at King Mohammed V University in Rabat in 1967.
He died on June 3, 1968 / Rabi' al-Awwal 7, 1388 in Rabat. His body was taken to Jordan and buried in the Greater Amman Cemetery.

He wrote patriotic poems, and these poems were characterized by “Arab enthusiasm, transparent and deep human goodness, and he singled out Palestine the first issue of the Arabs with many of his poetry. He took care of innovation in language and poetic composition, and his poems were known for their sobriety and strength of casting, and for the sincerity and heat of emotion.” Abdul Aziz Al-Babtain mentioned him in his dictionary and said, “The national meaning prevailed over his poetry, and his spiritual tendency was mixed with a human sense and Arab enthusiasm. In his poems, ancient and modern features meet, and the wording tends to be sobriety and novelty.
