Youssef Nasser, born in 1947 in the village of Kafr Samie in the Upper Galilee region, is a Palestinian poet, writer, and esteemed university professor of the Arabic language at Al-Quds University. Throughout his career, he has been hailed as one of the most renowned academics in Arabic literature, known for instilling values of nationalism and humanity in his students.

Life and Education

Nasser completed his primary education in his village school before moving on to Tarshiha Secondary School, where he finished his secondary studies in 1964. He earned his bachelor's degree in Arabic language and world literature from Tel Aviv University and later obtained a master's degree in Arabic language and Comparative Literature from the University of Haifa.

Career and Contributions

Since 1970, Nasser has served as a professor of Arabic language and world literature at Tarshiha Secondary School. He has also been actively involved in various literary and community organizations, including the Writers Association in Palestine, the Arab Orthodox Community Conference in Palestine, and the Palestinian Authors and Writers Association.

Nasser's literary contributions extend to both poetry and prose, with his works published in numerous local and international newspapers and magazines. He has authored several collections of poetry, including "Flashes and Tornadoes" (1981) and "Shrine of the Belle" (1982), as well as literary articles collected in publications such as "Paper and Nectar" (2008) and "Agate Necklaces" (2011).

Awards and Recognition

Nasser's dedication to literature and service to his community have been widely recognized. He was awarded the Order of the Holy Sepulcher by the Patriarch of the Holy City of Jerusalem for his service to his village. Additionally, he received a certificate of appreciation in literature from the Arab Organization for Development of the League of Arab States in Cairo in 2000. Nasser also received the Naji Noman Exceptional Literary Award in Lebanon for his book "Paper and Nectar" in 2010, among other accolades for his national affiliation and literary achievements.
