The director of the forum, renowned Egyptian author Muhammad Mahfouz, wrote to Shamlawi informing her she was selected for the list. He applauded her abilities and writing style and called on Arab officials to take care of her unique talents. According to the Palestinian Writers Syndicate, Shamlawi is the youngest professional writer in Palestine.

The young girl has written several short stories, and conducted a number of studies, the most famous of which was about the situation of Palestinian children. She presented her study on Palestinian television in 2007. She applauded all those who supported her, especially her father and her family.

Palestine's youngest writer said that she hoped the whole world would hear her voice. Shamlawi also thanked the governor of Nablus Jamal Muheissin, lawyer Ghassan Ash-Shak'ah, member of the Executive Committee of the Palestine Liberation Organization and Al-Mutawakkil Taha, undersecretary of the Palestinian ministry of information for supporting her.
