Information
Shawqi Abu Khalil is a Palestinian writer and researcher. Shawqi was born in Bisan in 1941. He received his university studies at the History dept. in Damascus University in 1965, he then left to Azerbaijan in order to obtain his PhD degree in History.
After his return to Damascus, he worked as a history teacher in numerous secondary schools in Syria, lecturer at Shari'a College in Damascus University from 1988-1997, secretary general of the Islamic and Arabic Sciences University in Damascus from 1992-1997, chief editor at Dar Al-Fikh since 1991 until his death.
He died on 24 August 2010.
