Information

Ihsan bin Najib Agha Abdel Fattah Agha Al-Nimr is a Palestinian writer, author, historian and politician from a Nablus family, born in the city of Nablus in Palestine in 1905 and died there in 1985.

Ihsan grew up in a conservative family famous for piety and honesty, as his mother sent him to the office of the khan in the Sultan market (the ancient khan), and in the second year he sealed half of the Holy Qur’an, and obtained a higher certificate, meaning that he was successful, so that his teacher Sheikh Fuad al-Hanbali was raising him The negligent hung him and insists on him beating them an insult to them.

This is how he was in the elementary department in Nablus, and at the beginning of the Rushdi office, and he received several books as rewards, including the biography of the Conqueror, Tarzanween reading, and other books, and his marks in history, geography, Arabic and arithmetic were no less than ninety. In the third year, he completed the completion of the Qur'an, and then joined the An-Najah School. His dislike of the English had an impact on the delay in his studies and his shortcomings, so he entered the National College of Choueifat in Lebanon.

With a simple review of her lessons, he was between the second, third and fourth in the class, so he surprised her teachers, and they verified his betrayal in Al-Najah School, which surprised them most with his excellent behavior compared to other Muslim students, as he was persistent in prayer, reading the Qur’an and fasting. He was doing reconciliation among the students, and he obtained our preparatory certificate, and he also obtained its document to enter the scientific class at the American University without an examination. His financial conditions did not help him to enter the American University. So he turned to study on himself, and to pass the metrology examination with Palestinian acquaintances, and this coincided with the great strike, so he stopped performing the examination, and if he did it, he would have succeeded, as all those who entered the examination succeeded because they did not strike. However, “Ihsan” did not despair, but rather wrote a curriculum for himself, so he studied many encyclopedias and books, especially in history such as al-Kamil by Ibn al-Atheer, al-Yaqubi, History of Ibn Khaldun, his introduction and History of Ibn Kathir, and after receiving the Saudi gift he studied the books of reformers such as Ibn Taymiyyah and Ibn Qayyim. Al-Jawziyyah and Najdiyyah: Muhammad Abd al-Wahhab and Sulayman ibn Samhan al-Najdi, and the book of Egyptian reformers: Sayyid Jamal al-Din al-Afghani, Sheikh Muhammad Abduh, al-Kawakibi, al-Ghalayini, and al-Manfaluti. Al-Thaalibi and songs by Al-Isfahani. On top of this, he reads the Holy Qur’an with the tafsir of Ibn Kathir and Al-Baghawi daily, then Sahih Al-Bukhari, Al-Tirmidhi, Sahih Muslim and Sunan Abi Dawood, which helped him to produce his valuable works. Ihsan graduated from the College of Choueifat in the summer of 1929

Ihsan’s graduation from the College of Choueifat in 1929 coincided with disturbances between Arabs and Jews in Jerusalem, Hebron and Safed, where he had established that the English were the cause of the calamity. A strike in every country on August 23.

Ihsan died on May 21, 1985 AD in the city of Nablus, and was buried in the Al-Nimr cemetery in Nablus, leaving behind his wife and one daughter, Mrs. Khadija.
