Turki Amer was born in Hurfeish, Upper Galilee in 1954. Amer received his elementary education in Hurfeish in 1969; secondary education in Tarshiha in 1973. He obtained his Bachelor's degree in Social Work from the University of Haifa in 1977, he also obtained a Diploma in Journalism and communications in 1983 from the same university.
Turki has worked at the social work directorates for 9 years, he then worked as a tutor in 1985. Turki is a member of the Arab Writers Union since its establishment in 1987.
He started writing poetry in 1972, published his first poem in the Druze Magazine.
