Dima Juma Al-Samman (1963) is a Jerusalemite writer and novelist from the State of Palestine. She specialized in writing about Jerusalem. She received her education at Schmidt School, and after high school she studied “Linguistics” at Birzeit University. She held high positions of importance in the educational and media corps. The title of Jerusalem Cultural Personality for the year 2013.
She was born in Al-Quds Al-Sharif in 1963. She was raised in an educated family. Her father is a writer and her mother is an Arabic language teacher. She was influenced by any beautiful literary work, even if it was by an emerging writer. In addition, she read a lot of Arab writers, including: Hanna Mina, Anis Mansour, and Naguib Mahfouz.

All of her fictional works conveyed the message of the impossible daily reality and social and cultural life in the Palestinian interior to the reader, and she was honored with one of her novels from several Palestinian and Arab institutions in 2008. She worked in several press periodicals that were published in Jerusalem, including: New Week Magazine, With People Magazine, Newspaper Al-Sada, Maraya newspaper, has published a range of literary, political, educational, analytical and critical articles, and short stories. In addition, a number of critical studies have been published about her writings in a number of periodicals inside and outside the country and on the pages of websites. She has several manuscripts awaiting publication.

She holds a high diploma in directing documentaries and short films. She worked as a former documentary film director at the Palestinian Radio and Television Corporation, where she directed several documentaries that reflect the Palestinian political, social, educational and cultural reality.

She won the award for the best novel written about Jerusalem for the year 2008 on the occasion of Jerusalem, the Capital of Arab Culture for the year 2009, and she was honored by the Forum of Jerusalemite Women Writers in 2009, and by Al-Quds University and several Arab institutions.
The Palestinian Ministry of Culture awarded her the title of Jerusalem Cultural Personality for the year 2013.
