Fawaz Eid (1938 - 30 January 1999) was a Palestinian poet. He was born and raised in Samakh, southeast of the city of Tiberias. After the 1948 catastrophe, he emigrated with his family to Syria and settled in Daraa, where he completed his education and Damascus, where he graduated from its university with a license in Arabic language and literature. Then he obtained a diploma in education and worked as a teacher. He published his poetry in newspapers and literary magazines and issued four collections of poetry from 1963 until 1999, and his complete collection was published posthumously. He died in Damascus.

Fawaz Eid was born in Samakh in the Tiberias district in 1938 AD / 1357 AH and grew up there. He emigrated with his family after the 1948 catastrophe to Syria and settled in the city of Daraa. He received his primary education in El Al village in the Golan, middle school in Daraa in Houran, and secondary school in Damascus, then joined Damascus University in 1960 and obtained a BA in Arabic language and literature from it, then a diploma in education. He worked as a teacher of the Arabic language in UNRWA schools and the schools of the Ministry of Education in Syria. He entered the media, and worked as a program producer on the Saudi Radio, and a film monitor on Syrian TV.

He was a member of the Arab Writers Union in Damascus, and the Union of Palestinian Writers and Journalists.

He lived poor until he died on January 30, 1999 / Shawwal 13, 1419 in the Moadamiya suburb of Damascus.

He published a lot of his poetry in the magazine "Al-Adab" since the late fifties. In 1963 he published his first poetry collection, "In My Revolving Sun". “Fawaz Eid’s poetry is distinguished by clear lyricism, and it takes advantage of the folklore and employs it skillfully in his poetic production, in which the daily details of the life of the Damascene poet are brought up.” His poetry was distinguished by symbolism. He mentioned in Al-Babtain’s Dictionary of him: “His poetry has a humanitarian and patriotic tendency. His poetry expresses his desire for emancipation and salvation for himself and his homeland: Palestine in particular, and his Arab nation in general. He tends to use symbols, express pictures with the ability to imagine, and invest new energies into the components of the language in letters, words, and formats.
